Family Violence Intervention Program

The Family Violence Intervention Program is designed to put an end to the debilitating effects of the cycle of violence in families by increasing self-esteem and empowering individuals to become self-sufficient and maintain independence in a violence-free lifestyle.

Photographic and Medical Report Documentation: When domestic violence is suspected, our clinicians conduct the appropriate history and examinations and offer treatment.

Information/Referrals: Victims are provided with helpful, comprehensive information and referrals. The Center offers victims an informational packet with helpful materials regarding the cycle of violence, promoting self-efficacy, obtaining an Order for Protection and linkages with community resources.

Advocacy/Crisis Intervention: A family support advocate offers victims empathic support, empowerment and education regarding the cycle of violence and promoting self-efficacy. The family support advocate assists clients in establishing linkages with community resources and maintains follow up with the victim.

Community Presentations and Awareness: Center staff are available for presentations on topics related to family violence.
